The Flying Start Health Team consists of Health Visitors, Midwife, Community Nursery Nurses and Speech and Language Therapist.
The Flying Start midwife works in close partnership with the health visitors and Community Nursery Nurses with the aim of improving health outcomes for pregnant women and their unborn child.
Health Visitors help to support parents, to improve life and health outcomes for their children, they work holistically with families to enhance parenting skills by discussing various health topics. The health visiting service can help with identifying as early as possible health needs, mental health issues and any developmental delay in children.
The Community Nursery Nurses provide support for children, at home or in group settings. This may include supporting families to achieve milestones such as toilet training, weaning and communication.
The Flying Start Speech and Language Therapist assesses children with identified speech and language delay and provides a comprehensive care programme to improve speech and language development.
