This one day workshop aims to explore attitudes and previous experiences towards risk in play, as well as, looking in detail at the physiological, emotional and social effects and benefits that children experience while playing with risk and uncertainty.

It is aimed at all practitioners working with children but especially those in the Early Years Childcare Profession, Play Workers, Teachers, Youth workers and Social Workers.
The day is organised around a series of presentations, group work and interactive activities enabling participants to generate a real appreciation of the important role of risk/uncertainty in children’s play. By the end of the day participants will have an understanding of the issues and practices involved in supporting children and young people in their riskier play and how to apply a Risk Benefit Approach in their own workplace.
Refreshments will be provided; participants will need to arrange their own lunch.
